As CEO of your company – you are no longer the “head of everything”. It is up to you to provide leadership. That’s the job. No ifs, ands, or buts. The sooner you recognize it the better. Being the leader entails sure responsibilities which cannot, beneath any circumstances, be delegated.

By the way, much has been written when it comes to the calibers of leadership. But leadership is not when it comes to qualities, such as “strength of character” or “integrity”. While those things are useful, if you aren’t already imbued with “a winning personality”, it may take half a lifetime to create one.

The core responsibilities of corporate leadership – which you can not delegate – include:

  • Owning the imagination and the system to realize the vision;
  • Communicating the resourcefulness to insiders and outsiders;
  • Enabling others to act to realize the vision;
  • Developing new leaders.
  • Owning the Vision

Vision is our conception of the future of our business. Owing to a quirk of humane cognitive physiology, most of us experience our mental representations as images. When we think, or imagine, or conceive, what the future will be like, we tend to see it. Hence “vision”.

Vision is plainly how we comprehend and experience the future of our company right now, in the present. We “see” the company being a peculiar way – as front-runners in our industry, as serving a peculiar class of customers, or perchance as being located internationally, or generating a sure level of revenues, or even as causing breakthroughs for humanity. Another way to describe the vision is to call it “The Future”.

A powerfully held and shared resourcefulness energizes and inspires people. By giving them a sense of their future – it provides a “place to go” or a purpose. It draws people forward like iron filings to a magnet. Vision is the critical catalyst that multiplies the attempts humans put into their work, and intensifies/magnifies/ augments/ expands/enlarges the effect or those efforts.

It doesn’t matter where the imaginativeness came from. It could be have been a brainstorm amidst three friends over a cup of coffee. It could have been formed in a system seminar, or at a board meeting. It could have washed over you in the shower one morning or for the duration of the commute home one evening.

Regardless of the source – the CEO/Leader is the keeper of the vision, the “owner” of the vision. No one else in your company may play this role. Embrace the imagination and make it yours. Have this imagination be your animating principal.

Your vision will most likely include elements of product vision, company vision, and industry vision.

Communicating the Vision

Next, the CEO/Leader’s occupation is to commune the imaginativeness and aid humans take it on as their own. By with great success transforming your resourcefulness into a shared vision, you empower your workers – they see themselves inside of it, to see the future described as their future.

The imaginativeness is now a source of magic – when people see themselves living an inspiring future, they take action consistent with transforming that imagination of the future into a reality. Right now, in the present. People become self-inspiring when they own the vision.

Depending on the size of your organization, one-on-ones, round table discussions, town-hall meetings, group discussion calls, satellite meetings, board meetings, staff meetings, company dinners or outings, off-sites, video and audio tapes, monographs, white papers & newssheets may all be suitable ways to commune your vision.

Regardless of the queer venue, each time you get humans talking in regards to “the vision” they are making it their own.

The CEO also communicates the resourcefulness to all outside stakeholders – the Board, suppliers, clients or clients, investors, the media, even the government. When the outside world actively participates in your company’s future, a lot of things which were once difficult become easy.

Enable others to act to fetch the imagination into reality

It is not sufficient to merely percentage the vision. The CEO/ leader provides prospects for persons to act to realize the vision. How do you do that?

First off, have persons spend 100% of their time on work that is aligned with the company vision. Ask the question, “Is this or that project moving us toward our indicated future?” If not, kill it – immediately.

Encourage C.R.I.B.:

  • Creativity – Rarely will same-old thinking foster a bright new future. Get your establishment looking outside the box. What new approaches may you take? What new engineering science may you apply?
  • Risk taking – Don’t penalize failure. Silicon Valley crusade capitalists genuinely reward failure. A failed business effort is regarded as a badge of courage and a sign of experience and maturity.
  • Initiative – Give humans permission to do things and launch projects on their own. If you discover someone working on something promising, make sure they get the right resources and funding – and make a huge deal out of it.
  • Breaking with tradition. Just because you did it ‘that way’ in the past…

Eliminate the kind of thinking which says: “We don’t have the time, or the money, or the resources, to do…” Cultivate a climate where humans say “How may we…” rather of “Can we…” or “We can’t, because…” This simple alter fosters C.R.I.B.

Finally, ask the question, “What is in the way of consecrated action?”

Develop new leaders.

In a great deal of subdivisions of the military, a senior officer is measured by the quality of the junior officers for whom he is responsible. In an entrepreneurial company, you will be in the long run successful to the degree you cultivate the leaders who follow you.

Remember, leadership is not a set of attributes, but a set of actions to take. Great leadership capacity may invent through practice. If your company embraces C.R.I.B., humans will naturally give rise to the accomplishments of leading.

Look at your development teams as a training camp for leaders. Rotate humans through key positions. Change the rules from time to time. Keep projects a little short of resources to give hope or courage to flexibleness and ingenuity. Ask managers to make conclusions on the spot.

Replace yourself in as numerous critical areas as possible. Push decision making further down your organization, and finally, let go!

Leadership is the ruby which transforms the scattered light of your establishment into a focused, consistent laser beam, aimed – with vast power – in the direction of your declared future.

By forging a vision, advancing it relentlessly, enabling your people to act to fetch that imaginativeness into reality, and manufacturing you new leaders to replace you, you invent outstanding leverage.

As Archimedes reportedly said, “Give me a lever long sufficient and I will move the earth.” Leadership, employed to your business, is the extreme leverage.

5Perked me up!

I’m a very small A cup, so bathing suits that fit my top are usually too small on the bottom. This summer, I decided to fit my bathing suit to my hip measurements, and add these enhancers to the top of my suit. These shapers look so good that I’m tempted to wear them every day. However, I can’t wear them with triangle bikini tops comfortably. I don’t trust that the suit will not shift and reveal the corner of this shaper! Under clothes, they are a dream. Even in the tank tops with the built-in bras! I’m so glad I purchased these. I might just get another triangle pair for my bikini. Buy them. You won’t be sorry!

5Bigger breasticles!

Okay, confession time. I had a baby recently and went from a 34D pre-baby to a 34G while nursing, and now that baby is bigger, boobs are slightly deflated at a 34Cminus/Bplus. It is sad, I know. I can’t afford (mentally or financially) implants right now, and the girls are pretty much where I left them gravity-wise but are leaving a pretty sizeable gap in my Vic. Sec. bikini tops, so I needed a little something to help the old bikinis look decent again. Out of desperation, I tried 2 or 3 of the push up pads that came with the Vic. Sec. tops in each cup, and every conceiveable combo of those, waterpads, round push-ups and socks. The Swim-shaper Dollies look much better than anything I could come up with. They give as much “oomph” as probably 3 Vic. Sec. push-up pads, and are much more comfortable. They definitely fixed the problem, fit into the little cubbyhole in the bikini tops easily and made me feel a lot better. The only negative is that they are a little heavy. They work best in tops with a band or underwire. Not as well, but still perfectly acceptable in string tops. Bottom line: I love these!!! I was so impressed I considered posting a before and after pic. Maybe after I lose the muffin top.

4Have a right sized bra and position them right – they work wonders!

I got these to fill in my smaller breast. Since my difference is more severe than others (Full C and barely a
B), I had to use both in one cup. I have lots of experience stuffing my bra and these are by far are the most comfortable and natural-looking IF you position them right. They were a little firmer than I thought they would be which is a downside when hugging, but not too noticeable. They don’t ‘stick’ to you unless you’ve been sweating a lot, but my bra keeps them in place nicely. These would work best for a A or B cup, but if you’re a C or larger, they don’t look natural unless you have a really stiff-cupped bra. These are NOT for triangle-shaped bikini tops because they DO Stick out the sides.
